Question about my car vin number

Hi all

I have a question about my car vin number. I think have a 1974 911 . The sticker on the door say it was buith on 10 /1974 but the car have a 1975 vin number on it. the number is 911 520 0695. all vin on the car match. also the pink slip say the car is 1974 and have the same vin as the car. Can anyone tell me what is going on ???

Thank you

ALAN

Alan,

It doesn't really matter what the pink slip or title says ... they cant change the fact that there were no 1974 models built after 1 September 1974!

This is a continuing point of confusion with many people ... and the issue is somewhat muddied by the way production numbers and serial/VIN numbers were reported by factory accountants! Many sources in print are ambiguous or incorrect. The simple fact is that the factory converted over to next year production by 1 September every year ... and 1974 was no exception!!!

SO basicly what it mean is that they start to buith the 1975 model in september 1974 so they use the 1975 vin number for the car. But because the car was sold as a 1974 model the pink slip say it a 1974 car.

Thank you Early s man
