Depending on when and where, I'm in the general neighborhood (north shore) and would be happy to lend a hand. At least lexan isn't as likely to break as glass! Let us know the details.

I could make it depending on the time/date. Although, I've never installed glass before.

Well it is more difficult than it appears at first. Getting it in is one thing - its another to have the chrome and seal appear AS IF they were never man handled. I am actually stopping by a glass shop after work to get some tips and coaching. Then armed with pizza, beer and some laughs - we can give it a try. Will post details. Thanks.

One of the tricks is to get the molding in shape before the install. Use the glass as a template to bend the molding so that it's chape matches the gasket and glass. Then, as you guys are no doubt aware the glass, gasket, molding and rope go together on a bench first. The rope ends are at the bottom side of the glass, overlapped. Guys outside the vehicle firmly but gently press on the glass and gasket while the rope is being pulled.

any updates Jim on the lexan install? Possibly all of this rain has dampened the spirit? Keep us updated if you do make this an open event...maybe I can see that ducktail then if it is still around?

A sunny day would help! It will be an open procedure and we will have a guest that installs glass for a living. He said he would glad ly show us all the tricks so it can be done at home for the rest of us. I am hoping the rain will clear in the next few days so we can have plenty of room in the sunshine.

You can see the duck anytime, call me or pm and come on over.

A Saturday would probably be best for most of us - so either this one or next is my hope.

Will post more details.
