Making a 3-point turn and steering locked up

I was making a 3 point turn last night and my steering wheel seemed to lock up for a second. I rocked it and it came loose and then I felt like maybe it was my imagination. I do not have power steering and never had this problem before.

My only concern is that if I was on the highway, it could be deadly.

It almost felt like the steering wheel locked had engaged for a brief moment.

Anyone have any suggestions?
