Can expandable Oil Return tubes be expanded too far?
First I want to thank everyone else here for thier threads concerning this topic. Without that information this would have been many levels of magnitude more painful.
I just finished replacing the aftmost oil return tubes (between cylinders 1&2 and 4&5). Each was equally painful because I didn't want to remove the exhaust manifold. I'm a bit worried because the 4&5 tube expanded about a half mm further than the tube in the 1&2 did. Here are my pictures: New return tube between 1&2: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1149920964.jpg New return tube between 4&5 (the separation is a bit larger here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1149921029.jpg Here's a the old tubes (thought someone might find it interesting to see them): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1149921060.jpg Sorry, the tubes on a pie box, which explains the carmel rings under and around the tubes. So far I haven't had any leaks (I got her up to operating temp and turned her around so I could re-park her in my garage, no leaks while engine ran or after so far), but I'd like to know what some of you here think about it. Should I be concerned, or is this normal? |
I don't think it is a concern.
I noticed some minor variation when installing mine. No leaks so far! |
Thanks, so far (about 10 hours after running the engine) its dry under my car.
This is the first time in since I got it. |
