Slight puff of smoke on start up

It's not to bad but my car 3.3 turbo has a slight puff of smoke when starting. Maybe turbo or valve seals or sort of normal should I worry ?

Perfectly normal for a 911 engine. Some do, some do not, some do it sometimes. Don't worry about it. Enjoy the car.

Goes well the flame I am sure it shoots when you back off the throttle! That has to sound good! Like Dantilla said, perfectly normal.

Cheers

A tip that a fellow Pelican gave me was when shutting down, let it idle for xx seconds first. This allows more oil to return to the tank I think?

Anyway, I do it, about 15 seconds or more. Watch the oil level reading, it will rise as more oil is returned. When I see it get to where I think it should be ("full") I turn off the engine.

I almost never get any smoke on start up

Oh Yes!!
Chris is OH, so right! If you let the oil go back home, say let it idle (mind you, NO throttle, which can be tough, I know, 'cuz you want to hear that noise) for 20 or 30 seconds, I doubt you will EVER see any more smoke at startup. I first read that advice here, and I have NEVER seen a puff of embarrassing smoke again. I damn near died when I first saw it, even though I just knew it couldn't be happening!
Spread the word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still just an '86 Targa sittin' out there in the 60 degree sunshine!
and lovin' it...............
