What makes boost come on so late?
Ok Im wondering why my boost comes on later than everyone elses 930. My engine is a 87 3.3. I have kokeln IC/turbo. Headers (no cats) running a zork tube off the turbo, tial wastegate wtih 1.0bar. msd ignition, blaster coil. magnecor wires, sc cams, fabspeed air intake kit, running high octane 114, and fuel head mod. My boost comes on at 4k rpm and pulls strong but not as strong as it did before when timing was advanced at 35 degrees but was set back to 30 degrees because my mechanic was scared the engine would blow. I've read alot of peoples boost comes on at 2-3000 rpm. Anyone have an idea why boost comes on so late? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Gotta compare apples to apples....are they using the same turbos? Spool up time is usually wastegate and turbo dependent...

Which turbo are you using? The original "K26" as it was incorrectly known?
I get boost around 2600 rpm but I am using a modified K27 replacement turbo.
