Stone guards, hit/skip?....

seen pics of stone guards on some Carerra's, but not sure if they are a need or not.

And are they magnetic? Seem to be easy to take on/off. Thx

If you mean the ones just in front of the rear wheel, no they are not magnetic. They are mostly needed for wide body cars. I put them on mine for appearance sake.

I bought a magnetic set from magbra.com. They work and look great and are on or off to suit my mood. Great product.

Their purpose is to protect the paint. The wider flares are a big target for rocks coming off the front wheels. If you go for it, install them using soapy water so you can position them easier. There are two kits, one for the narrower SC/Carrere and one for widebodies/Turbos.

Maybe the former users (including myself) found out that the product actually caused more harm then good. Instead of rock chips, you had a perfect outline of a magbra etched into your cars paint when you take it off.
