Cool Mid9 Members: Official Sign-up Time!

Hi everyone,
I've gotten the word from Steve (Project911) that he's gotten the site ready to go live by 5 PM EST. Everyone who joined the forum before, you still need to go sign-up to become an 'official member' of the website now. Accordingly, it will be a 'first come, first served' deal in terms of issuing member numbers at this point. Whether or not in the future a member may request a change of membership number will have to be determined by either Steve or Smitty..so, it may be possible..I know some of you will have particular preferences and if possible, then I'm sure that every effort will be made to accomodate those special requests.

Well, that's it for the moment..sign up at www.mid9.net

All the pages will be available..we'll see you on the site!
Ryan

Hi Ryan and thanks for the pm. I DID sign up, at least I thought I did more than a week ago. But I didn't see my name on the list of members only two guys including you! Though I doubt I am really the third member - that would be fine....of course having member number 11 would be cool....Mid9-11!

As for events, don't know if Steve is up for doing this in time but this Saturday there is a run here in SoCal with participation by at least a few Middies. It is the Redlands to Big Bear FunRun. There is a sticky on it maybe Steve can pick some info out of it.

Did not include my VIN as I don't know it off the top of my head and frankly I hate to admit it but where do I look for the engine number?

The Ventura run in September should DEFINITELY be put on the site and it might be nice to get some club stickers or window decals printed up before then, your thoughts?

Last, will photos in the Members Gallery have to be hosted elsewhere? Because if so I don't know how to do that, a little help?

I could be wrong, but look on the driver side, between the tire, and bumper extention, right above the valve cover.

I pulled this number 901.106.111.1R

Okay Bill, thanks.

I am checking with my printer source for a price/timeframe for club window decals or stickers. He tells me decals (which I prefer) are kinda old school. I am thinking they will be small. These would be the oval Mid9 ones, as much like the ones on the site as possible. They won't be free but as low priced - meaning NO profit - as I can get them. But quantity will dicate price and I don't expect us to need all that many, at least not in terms of printing batch terms.

Bill,
Thanks for the offer but you've done PLENTY setting up the website, etc. . I doubt they cost all that much. My contact is a family memeber, he'll give me as good a price as is possible. He mostly does T shirts and other print stuff, not stickers so he is checking some sources.

We should decide if we're giving them away to anyone? or are we giving them out to only owner's of Mid Years? I am in favor of the latter even though we are encouraging non-Mid year owners to join the group.

Maybe we should run a poll, Ryan?! Where's the Pooh Bah when you need him?

It might be nice to have at least the stickers be somewhat exclusive.

I don't believe I had anything to do with the website set up. Plus I could never do enough for our club.

I believe we should make them exclusive to the Mid9 owners. The whole point of this group is for us Mid guys, 74-77 owners. If you own a MID9, then your in. Not that I feel the others (non MID9 owners) shouldn't be part with us, because they should, but the stickers are for the purpose of placing them on a MID9, to show our club colors. So I'm with you, at least the stickers should be exclusive to the MID9 members. Anything else we produce from the club could go out to the others, shirts, hats, beer cozies, key chains, etc.

On the stickers, I'll need like 10 of them. 8 for the car (I live in Vegas, the sun will beat these things up, so keeping it fresh is a plus) 1 for the tool box, 1 for the office.

Bad news about the name 'MID9'. It has already been claimed by the Mid-engined 9 series crowd ->914-6. ;-)

Bill,
Sorry I confused you with Steve, oops my bad.

My printer contact suggested UV resistant ink for the stickers so fading will be eliminated...well, minimized anyway! After all Las Vegas on a hot afternoon is what? Just a little cooler than oh...say, the SUN!

Right now I have no idea what price they'll be but I promise to pass along the cost only and make no profit. T-shirts will probably be another matter as they are a hassle.

I am thinking I'll try to get the stickers out to bonafide Mid Year owners/Mid9 club members before the Ventura run, I'll try anyway.
