M& K muffler test- "boxster" center exit style
Ben shipped us the replacement muffler for Pieter's 74 2.7 MFI RS motored Carrera
The style is 2 inlet (in this case SSi's) with center placed 2 outlet side by side . Similar to the Boxster S at first glance. With the rear valence trimmed for clearance, the tips ended up about 1" below the main section of the rear fiberglass bumper and about an 1" in. The sound is terrific- VERY pleasing with no resonance and it feels like there is little restriction. Not loud either as i rarely got glances from surrounding traffic. The back pressure is spot on as the mfi motor was smooth as silk either with part throttle thru the range or hammering it Kudos on a well built product! |
Great to hear!

Wow - very encouraging, thanks for the post! Ben's building me the same thing but with a single-in for my 3.2. I have to be able to swap the cat back in every two years for emissions testing. Could you please post some pics?

Just wanted to add that after driving around No. Hollywood in this car (went to pick it up from the upholstery guys), I got the number of a FINE blonde chick. She pulled up at a light and old me, "Nice car!" ;) ;) I think 99% of that was due to the sound of a 2.7 MFI motor w/ Ben's muffler. Cheers!:D

Dave, you heard Ben's R style mufller on the Ragamuffin while it was at your shop. And that was after I installed baffles in the exit pipes. While I was standing in the doorway, I could hear my car all the way to the light at the corner when being driven mildly. How does the new muffler compare?

from my ear these are way more tame
