Love the color! I dig the door jig too Kevin, I constantly get comments on both the paint job and color of my RS clone....

great job kevin. when you are thinning out your paint do you always follow the paint guidelines or just go with what you know/feel? also, should you always try for the BEST gun finish to avoid too much wet flatting or is that too risky for the novice? last question, what grades of paper do you use through the wet flatting stage?

thanks for your advice

adomakin I stick to the manufacturers directions as for reducing the paint but I rely on experience while applying. To be honest I think I suck when it comes to getting my clearcoat flat/smooth. I spend (in my opinion) far too much time wet sanding. I start with a quick pass with 1000# just to remove any dust or debri nubs. Then another pass with a 2000# paper. Once I'm happy with the result of my hand sanding I use 3M's TriZact system up to 3500# and then polish.

Wow....I couldn't stop looking at it and giggling. Thanks Kevin for doing a tremendous job on my baby. I can't believe how much that color POPS in person! I almost hate to take it to the track....almost.

Kevin, you are a true paint Guru, that was no easy car to whip into shape!
