Another "don't know the car, but know the guy". I would trust him and if I was in the market for a Targa, that would be a nice one at a great price by the looks of it.

I would recommend that the vehicle have a certified inspection before you buy it on Ebay.
That's my warning. If the seller refuses, he's probably hiding something.
If you can see it in person, than do so and make up your mind. Be very careful looking at the engine and checking all of the electrical components for proper function. I would also check out the trunk to make sure the air compressor and jack were inplace.
