87 carrera throttle opening

With pedal to the floor, my throttle butterfly was only half opened. My buddies 83 sc had much more poke!Could find no obvious reason so I adjusted the linkages as much as possible to get a better throttle opening. Still feel that I missed something though. No way could it have come from the factory like that and yet the guy I bought it from did not even know what a throttle is. Plan to go over the links from the pedal to the throttle soon just to see if I can figure it out. Anybody out there have any thoughts? thanks, Ned.ps I am assuming of course that the throttle butterfly should be wide open at full throttle. I dug back through Pano and Excellence to see if anyone had this problem before but found nothing.Found Nothing about throttle adjustment in the Workshop manuals either.
