Bastardized

Just posting a few pics taken today at the shop (Rudtners Racing) where the bastardization of a real clean SC has begun. You know, I feel no remorse except that I should have done this sooner

Elephant suspension, 930 brakes, MA Shaw FG bumpers, 6 pt harnesses,Cobra seats, big front mount oil cooler......waiting for the Brits to fab the Safety Devices cage.

And a shot of the son's NB

Cheers

Holy cow. That thing is going to stop like you threw the anchor out.

Is that the IROC airdam with the jumbo-size cooler? I just bought a giant cooler too, lower oil temperatures = more power. The RUF spoiler is the most aerodynamically efficient but I like the brake ducts you have there. Will you have Bill do up some clamshells to blast air on the rotors?

Oh, and don't worry about cutting up the car. . . you have plenty of Karma to go around after keeping the M491 perfect. . . and doing TWO Irish Green cars.
The kid's bug ain't looking too bad either.

Thanks for the kind words John. I really charged with this project. Mike Jr has a pro photog friend that take awesome shots of cars.

Hey John will we see you next weekend at the LI get together?

Craig, the front bumper is a IROC type.

Cheers

Looks awesome. One question though, why did you go with slotted front and drilled rear rotors?

It seems that drilled rotors have a tendancy to crack with the heat cycling. I've been told by people who know more than I that slotted are more durable and work as well as slotted. The rears do not generate as much heat as fronts.

Yea, I threw in that pic of the kid's NB to add some contrast.

It looks like it's becoming very track like. Between the f/g bumpers and light weight seats, you're gonna lose some serious weight. I'm looking forward to your old rear bumper on my car! Let me know.

That's gonna be nice! It'll look great with either a duck or IROC tail.

Those exact bumpers are going on my SC this week!

What did you do about:

Marker lights for the front

License plate lights

Which oil cooler are you using?

jaydubya....
probably no marker lights for front as of yet.
I'll be using a lighted plate frame for the rear plate.
The oil cooler is a bar & plate type......Performance Products have it in their catalog under the B&B name for $725.00, I found mine in the rain at the Hershey swap meet for $50. I sent it out to Pacific Oil Cooler for cleaning.

What to do about the front license plate??? That is the question.

No front license plate for me - haven't had one on either of my cars here in Utah for 6 years and have never had a problem.

The shop that's doing the work (Air Power Racing) went with the Smart Racing oil cooler.
For license plate lights on the rear I picked up a pair of the Lite'n Bolts.
Supposedly the shop knows where to get a dual bulb replacement for the front turn signal fixture that will do both the marker light and turn signal light.

Nice to see those bumpers on your SC! Can't wait to get my car back.

Cheers,

Jeff
