front suspension accident
Roads in Puerto Rico can be very bad. While passing another car, I hit a pothole damaging a crossbeam that is in front of the torsion bar and supports other components of the front suspension. The car now is very low on the right side and the tire gets pinched with the fender.
I got a quote for $900 (ie., $450 for the beam/few nuts & bolts and the remaining portion for labor)! Based on information provided, is $900 reasonable ? Alberto-1985 911 Cabriolet [This message has been edited by alberto (edited 04-11-99).] |

Hi there. Your A-Arm is probably damaged. We sell these for $320. If they are charging you $450 for the parts and $450 for labor, that comes out to be about 8 hrs of work - which seems a little high, but I'm not there looking at the bottom of your car. Keep in mind that almost all shops charge you list price for the parts, and make most of their profits off of the parts.
Hope this helps, Wayne |
