ST's were built for rallying...right?

I decided to set off early this morning and find some new roads. Stopped to grab a cup of coffee on the way (big mistake) and I was off. Only 10 minutes from my house I ran into a gold mine or Porsche roads heading up to Mt Raineir Nat'l forest. Great roads, Beautiful scenery, no traffic, no cops, just perfect! Got in some good hard driving but had to stop and dump out the coffee... that is how good the roads were! After a while I decided to take a side road that had a big "NO OUTLET" sign... wonder whats up there. Well, pavement quickly turned into gravel and gravel turned to mud as I headed up an old logging road. 250hp, a light car makes for fun off road driving!!! The downside is that I had to spend 10 bucks at the local car wash pressure washing the mud off my car and then another wash session once I got home but Ferdinand Porsche would have been proud!

Here are some pics...

This was only half way up... it got a lot dirtier but I was concentrating more on not sliding off the road than taking pictures

And finally at home after a BIG wash job...

Great story and pics! Yes, the good doctor must be smiling from over yonder. Beautiful car - could not look more business than that!

Oh, look - you must have dropped your rocker panels in the woods..

You are a god amoungst men! To be completely honest that car has to be one of my favorite 911s, period. And add to the fact that you drive it as the good man intended, I stand humbled in your presence.

Nice. Now you just need a set of 6 inch wheels with 70-series snow tires all around and you're all set.

Herman,

FYI, I absolutely love the seats! I don't know where you would get a set though... mine are period correct Recaros. I have sat in some of the reproductions and it is not the same. I also mounted mine so they angle back more... more of a reclined position. It is much more comfy than the typical upright position. I drove the car about 3000 miles to the R-Gruppe meet in Sonoma and never got tired of the seats!

This drive was a blast!!! All that fun and back home by 10AM! Time to go work on my RSR project and fire up the welder...

Noticed in your 1st pic that WA state actually uses guard rails where there is a chance of sliding off the highway and down a 100+ foot ravine. Wish our highways dept. here in BC were that clever. There are so many places up here (in the interior) where certain death awaits anyone wandering off the shoulder that even at the speed limit you will clench your butt cheeks!
PS: I wonder what those unfortunate souls that don't own Porsches do on the weekend?

What flares are those in front? Are the metal? Where did you get them? The car is absolutely stunning.

The flares are factory steel 911ST flares... kind of a barn yard type find. Here is the whole story...

911ST update 10/24

just finished repainting the ST

I'm likin' it a lot that you were blasting through the muddy mountain roads in that car.....
You're my hero.
Killer looking car.

One question....
What do you have for carpeting inside the cab, and what color?
Thanks!
Again....sweet looking ride and way to drive it like it was meant to be driven.

The carpet is the OEM Heragon salt and pepper mix and I got it from Tony's new shop. It is pricey but this stuff lasts forever is easy to keep clean.

Nice car! Tuck those exposed oil lines somewhere before off-roading dents them.
