Restorers: Help with Pricing SC Parts
We welcome your educated guesses on the resale value of the following parts from a low-mileage, 1983 SC.
1) Stabilizer bars - Front is 20mm solid, and is NOT through the body type. Rear is 19mm solid. These are fixed attachment pieces. Very good condition. 2) Torsion bars - Front 18.8mm solid. Rear is 25mm solid. Bars and all splines are in perfect condition. 3) Inflatable space-saver spare tire & wheel (Vredestein), and Bilstein OEM jack (will work with SC or Carrera.) Will bundle all as a "package", or divide. Let us know the value(s), please! Ed LoPresti |

50 bucks, 50 bucks, and 50 bucks. Maybe higher on the spare. Lots of these parts from folks upgrading

Don't know about the bars but...spare tire averages about $50 (as Brad states) and jack $30 - $40.

Try a search on evilBay. Old sways and t-bars sell often, and it should be easy to get an idea of what they are going for. The spares sell less often, but you might find something. I would think one might sell for more then $50.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for your judgement and your comments. This stuff is so very common it almost is not worth boxing up to ship. Still, we need to start making some room in the shop. Any additional thoughts on who might take the whole package, plus front and rear bumpers in excellent condition? Thanks again, Ed |

The SC rear A-R bar should be an 18mm. Isn't the stock rear torsion bar a 24 mm on an SC? Just going from memory.

Jerry,
Thanks for the "heads up" on the bar sizes. I was going from memory (not as accurate as yours), and thought these were the stock diameters. Someone is going to get a little more spring for their dollar! Ed |
