POS Weltmeister part...
Well, this is about the third time I have been burned with Weltmeister parts. This time it was the shifter rod bushing which failed. Symptom was that shifting got bad (after being almost perfect...for a 915), tried to adjust but couldn't do it...surprising since I wrote the article on shifter adjustment posted on Pelican!
Took it all apart, bushing had split in half, worn out and is totally shot. Luckily I am a pack rat and had the old one around, put it back into service and I am on the road again, able to shift perfectly once more. Car has 24,000 km since its restoration, probably less than 18,000 km since I put in the bushing. Am I just jinxed or does Weltmeister have a quality control problem or ?? From where I see it, I want to stay clear of their stuff and go with Porsche parts where at all possible....can any of you fine people talk me out of this approach? Dennis (the now royally un-pissed off person)

I've bought very few parts/acc parts from them and from now on if I can avoid them in the future I will. I really didn't have a problem with the part accept for installation and I called their tech support and they couldn't have cared less. They actually asked if they could put me on hold to research my problem and forgot to put the phone on hold so I could hear the guy BSing some other person on the phone. He came back on and still couldn't give a rip about my problem. I said "Man I'm glad I bought my other performance acc from other companies." and hung up on him. In today's world there are tons of other places making the same things so if I was in competition with them I'd focus on cust/tech support to be set above the competition.
Bottom Line: Buy somewhere else!
