Tire care/cleaner which one is the best

I tried some products to clean my tires...and never got the results I expected for...What is the one you use...and which one you think is the best??...Thanks all....

Ive had the best results with the long lasting purple gel that meguairs has out- it does last for a lot longer than others with a truly good result- and smells great too!

I just use the cheap stuff...called "Back to Black"...I think it is by wesleys....it lasts pretty well....isn't too shiney...and doesn't seem to attract dust and dirt like some do....i just use a sponge applicator to apply it

John Paterek told me that Wurth Citrus Degreaser is great for removing tire mold and getting the tires back to like-new condition. It's not for dressing, but for restoring.

purple gel is long lasting but does attract the dust.

What ever you use, don't let it be Armor-All. I use Vinylex, made by Lexol. This product will clean and leave behind a new looking sheen. I have sprayed this stuff on tires and see the brown running down the sidewalls. Spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes. Then wipe off any excess. I never had a problem with attracting dust.

A third vote for Meguiar's "Endurance" (the purple gel), if you like a low sheen that lasts a long time.

Meguairs gold, the jelly thing. It's the best I found.

randywebb 06-21-2006 05:38 PM

yeh they change the formulation & chemistry periodically, hence the Gold vs. Purple or Black info above

so, just get the newest and most expensive (it won't be much) stuff for tires tha Meguairs makes. check their web site - they have an 800 help # too.

Check out Zaino's tire care product. Much better than the over the counter stuff IMHO.

Not the best pic but it's all I could scare up on short notice.

Stoner's (I don't remember the name of the tire dressing) but it's carried by Murray's, Pep Boys, etc...

Zef 06-22-2006 06:07 AM

Thanks to all for the info.I will try the Endurance...

One Grand ERV (Exterior Rubber and Vinyl) Dressing. Available from Care Care Specialties. Very high quality stuff, very long lasting, leaves a perfect matte gloss.

BTW, Stoner's "Invisible Glass", liquid in the spray bottle (not the foam in the can) is absolutely the best glass cleaner I've ever used.
