Quick Shift Kit for Sporto?

Does the widely available quick-shift kit work on my 1970 2.2 Sporto? Anyone done mods to the torque converter for an earlier "bite", ie: less "auto" feel below 4000 rpm?

The quick shift kit works by shortening the distance that the shifter needs to travel. If memory serves me right, the Sportos don't have shift rods, right?

Your Sporto stick is two piece. It has a switch where the two pieces have a flex connection. This switch operates the vacuum valve which operates the clutch. Therefore, it is unlikely the short shift kit will work.

Unfortunately, the torque converters cannot be modified.
