how to identify original color etc. And where are engine serial codes
 
Ive just placed a deposit on a 66 911. Ive done a lot of reading and found this site to be extremely informative, which is great!

My question is, how can I find out what the original color of my car was (it was repainted). Also the previous owner swapped in a newer 2.0 motor, where can I find the serial numbers and verify the year?

try a search on "engine number"

Near the oil sender to the right of the crank pulley....paint code on tag in the door jam, driver side.
