Dyno results

Dyno results for my '85. 126k miles. Never been opened. Stock Euro car with SSI's, M+K 2-1out and SW chip.

Not sure what the torque scale equates to but the curve looks great. Max power is 233.5hp

In real world driving it has heaps of low end grunt and the part throttle response is electric.

Simon

Is that corrected for flywheel HP? Or is it making approx 267 HP at the flywheel? You're right the torque makes no sense, HP and Torque should always cross at 5252 rpm.

HP and torque cross @ 5252 only if they are plotted on same scale, which isn't the case in this graph.

Seems like perfectly OK graph for wheel-corrected Carrera.

Ben,

No, unforetunately I didn't realise how inexpensive/easy it was to organize a dyno before I converted.

Steve said that the results post your muffler/his chip and SSI's was consistent with his other clients.

With your 2in1out I lose a little throttle response and a bit of top end power compared to your 2in2 out. Power wise there is only marginal differences with Euro stock setup.

But torque is increased in low and midrange.

Unforetunately my results do not give a scale that correspondes to anything I recognise. The curve does look very good and the "butt" meter definitely indicates a significant rise in low end and mid end torque.

I really do like the sound of your muffler. Not too loud down low but rising to the occasion with the rev increase. Perfect sound track.

Simon

Thanks Jeremy!

Ben- this is part of the email Steve sent me.

"With the single out M&K muffler, you will give up some throttle response and top end power over the additional flow of a dual out system, however at the expense of a much louder exhaust note, and some resonance in the operation range below 3000._ Top end power with SSIs and a single out muffler are usually not much different over the stock European exhaust system, and can sometimes be less if the stock muffler was replaced with a sport one._ I would place peak end power of SSIs with a M&K single out to be equal to the stock Euro exhaust system._ This has been my experience so far._ My solution to this has been to have a dual out muffler, with the right side tailpipe capped when I want it to be quiet, and uncapping it if I want more power. The greatest gains from the SSIs are in the mid range where there is additional torque."

Which Steve?

And was that based on the dyno run for your engine, or was it a general stmt. based on doing a number of engines?
