Seat purchase.....How did I do????
I just bought an early sport seat on E-Bay for $860 shipped. Tangerina has no driver's seat, and this one would be a nice driver piece with plenty of "patina".
Did I do alright? Here's the item # 8076223530 I'll try to put the photos up onm my next post.

Thanks!
I noticed that it has part of the sliders there. I think I might have the rest of what I need. I wonder what the knob is on the left? Looks like a seatback adjuster knob, but it's a bucket. I guess I won't know until I get it. Should be much better than the stock '72 buckets!

Dude! Thats a nice 914 seat you bought. And only 860.00 US hard earned mulla. You should have gotten Daves new seats.

You know im just busting b@lls. I really think it is a 914 seat but maybe they are old enough that they were used in early 911s. Does anyone have any info on these seat?

Thanks for posting the pics Joe.
I found Armando's website with a google search right before I clicked back and saw your link. I wonder where I can find that hardware. I can probably fabricate what I need. They are great seats. Very comfortable on long drives, and hold you in tight compared to the stock. I thought about waiting for Dave to finish his seats, but I want matching patina, since Tangerina is a survivor car, and the interior is original. New seats might detract from the look.

Seems if you have the time you might be able to talk to Thom and see if he can copy the bucket, get a few made up and get Levon to reapulster the buckets. MMM. Might pay for the first one.

After seeing how much work and cost is involved while Dave was doing the leg work, I'll pass on that.

Just an update. I finally got to look at the seat when I was down in L.A. a while back.
I'm very happy with the seat. Just the right patina. Oh, and Joe, it's NOT a 914 seat. ![]() Anyway, it has an adjuster knob on the left side that actually adjusts the rake of the seatback. How cool! I wasn't expecting that, since there is no separation between top and bottom. It looks just like a one-piece race bucket. Dave thought it might have come in a BMW. Anybody seen one of these seats before?

Tyson - I've had a few of these seats.
They were fitted in a number of different makes/models originally - probably best known for being the seats in the BMW CSL's.

That's what Dave thought it was from. I'm very glad it does have the adjustable back, even though it makes it heavier than a true one-piece. It's for my '72, which is my weekend cruiser.
