Has any tried this Fibergalss Targa Top on Sale on eBay

Has any Targa owner seen one of these fiberglass tops? The top doesn't use the old frame and appears to use some type of knurled nut to hold the front down and has pins in the back. Without the frame it would be a lighter weight set-up, but is it stiff enough.

Here is the link on eBay:

No, I have the Pelican Parts one, which uses the existing frame.

Pic (after both roof and rollover hoop were sprayed to match the body):

Ben,

How hard was it fitting you top to get a good seal?

I am wondering about how stiff the top on ebay is with out the frame.

Pretty hard! It's now as tight as it will go and there's still some wind-noise, but I very rarely have the top on when driving, so it's not a big deal. It's really just for security and rain protection when the car is parked.

My Targa came with one of the fiberglass chunks. It was falling apart, too! Don't know where the original went, probably stolen or sold by idiot PO? No idea.
Save your dough and get a rebuilt one, a REAL rebuilt one, well worth it!
Fiberglass.....

Falling apart? What's to fall apart - it's one solid piece!

I bought the targa top from this sundialent guy last year.
A nightmare experience! The targa top is not properly done. A single piece of black plastic. Cheap looks and produces gaps of one inch on each side. Plus, read this guy's ebay feedback. He's not a pleasant individual to deal with- ask me how I know. I lost $400 on the deal. You have been warned.

Sounds like it's not the Pelican Parts top.

At the time of my purchase of this top from the same individual, he had a good return policy which I took advantage of after opening th e box... I would advise you to stay away because of the cheapness and gaps mentioned above...

Please believe me, those pieces of dung fail. Ask me how I know. My attorney is to come on board on this one. All the pictures she needs. I should expect to be hearing from the maker of those traps any day now. Just my honest opinion, but when a top comes "half" way off on the "Autobahn" after being properly fastened into place, one would have to think there might be a problem?
The unit I had, prior to my getting a REAL top, truly was crumbling to bits at the front left "SCREW SPOT." And screw is the key word here. Absolutely horse pucky engineering and lousy quality control. Not to mention flat out *#$%&*^# dangerous! Could take some time, but I'll prevail.
Again, I do not know where my car's original top went, but I plan to sue the PO (dealer) for allowing that weapon to be delivered attached to an otherwise decent piece of machinery. All in due time. I didn't know, now I have read and learned. Not good for them............
Be Safe!
Buy Good Stuff!
Pelican stuff? I should think there's no problem at all.
Dan the Man? Hands down winner.

I was the "beta tester" on these tops for Pelican. Do a search on the PP forums under "sundialent" for more info.

Buy one of the JMPRO tops that Pelican sells. It mounts to a Targa frame and works very well.

Also, look at his Ebay feedback. Anyone with 13 negatives has a problem.

Nesslar, I could not drive over 55 with the sundialent top on the car as it would pull off of the windshield frame. Its unsafe and should not be sold. We have told this jerk about it but he keeps selling. Kinda like Motormeister, there are more suckers out there who do not know how bad the top really is.

I'll chime in, also. One of these was supplied by the previous owner. I used it once. The fit is terrible, it is cheaply made and the noise is unbearable.

Don't do it.

Right on!
Good for you!
The garbage I had could have killed God knows whom.....
My existence doesn't matter, (per my better half, at least according to her, but she did make a promise of sorts for later...........) but what about the unfortunate sole trying to keep up back there, not gaining on me, mind you, but trying to find out if that is "an unpimped auto?"................
I cannot believe I drove with that thing on my PORSCHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have any more feedback on the JMPRO top that Pelican sells? I would be most interested in how it fits.
