help with identity
hi,
need some help with my car. i purchased this car in 1999. it is a 1973 t that needed some help. started in fall of 2000 with a complete restoration. hood badge has bugged me from the first time i saw this car. after a few months i forgot about it. everytime someone sees the car, i get comments about it. i have never seen anotherone like it. any insight? car was sold new in the boston area. dealer installed? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The badge itself is the standard one. The plastic wedge is something I've never seen. Must have been added sometime after the car left the factory.

Its not a factory gasket. I have never seen one like that either. The dealer or any previous owner could have installed it, or a body shop if the hood was damaged or replaced at some point.

hood badge has a factory gasket under it. the piece below it is machined aluminum with a factory looking gasket under it. badge is secured to the aluminum piece with nuts then the assembly is bolted to the hood. the aluminum piece is threaded and bolts go in from the underside. still kind of cool how the badge jumps out at you

Oh ok. I coundn't tell that from the pictures. I haven't seen one for sale anywhere else either. I use to work for Tweeks for awhile too.
