Fuel Line Connections - 70 911 E
I bought my 1970 911 E with the fuel tank out of the car and now am trying to connect all of the lines. The fuel tank has two lines: driver side and passenger side. The fuel pump, which is directly behind the fuel tank, has three lines: "S", "D" and "R". The underside body of the car has two lines leading to the motor: on the driver side and passenger side. Finally, there is a "T" fitting. Does anybody know the correct connections I need to make. Thanks.

I own a 69 911E and just replaced the fuel pump. Based on my memory and a little help from the factory manual, this is the way I see it. I believe the markings on the pump stand for supply, delivery and return. Of the two lines from the tank one is larger. This larger hose attaches to the larger nipple on the pump(S). The smaller hose attaches to the tee.
From the tee, one hose attaches to the fuel pump "R", and the other hose attaches to the line that enters the engine compartment on the passenger side (I assume this line exits on the passenger side at the front.) The last hose goes from "D" on the pump to the other line which enters the engine compartment on the driver side. Hope this helps. |
