Suspension-What to Do?

I just put a full tank of fuel in my car and I'm hearing squeaks form the front...I assume it is the original front bushings starting to deform letting the T bars rub making noise under the increased load of the fuel. I spoke to Chuck M. and he was very helpful in explaining what steps need to be taken to solve this problem. I looked at his site and for a full suspension refresh the cost is around $1800 for parts front and back (stage 1 street). My question to everyone is can I get away with just installing the polybronze bushings in the front and getting an alignment? Are there any other must replace parts while I've got everything apart? I'm at 107k miles with original bilsteins.

Thx!

Sure you can just replace the bushings and a alignment. Most of the people on this forum ( myself included ) tend to go crazy with upgrades but you don't have to just depends on what your expected results are. If you only want to get rid of the groaning noise up front then just do the front bushings and be done with it.

Just did mine, 180k on car and had 120k on the Bilsteins- so I sent them to Bilstein to have checked out and they did not pass so the sent me a new pair for nothing- I had bought them 20 yrs ago and they replaced them under warrenty. I also replaced just about everything in the front end. So now it is good for another 180k. My torsion bars were worn due to the sagging bushings so replaced them along with ball joints, tie rods and bearings. Jerry

Guys,

My car is 37 years old, 67k on the clock, and I replaced with poly bronze both front and rear, new 21 and 26mm tbs, new koni strut inserts and Bilstein sport rears, plus all new ball joints and turbo tie rod ends. The car is transformed. I can throw it around corners like it is a low powered car. Worth the money.

Dom
