HELP!!! Starting problems! 87 Carrera

Guys, this started this week.
My car is a 1987 Carrera 3.2 (stock). Car had been sitting for a about two weeks without driving in garage. Started right up without problems in the morning, drove to office, parked outside in ca. 90 degrees, took three attempts to start that afternoon (was sitting outside for ca. 6-8 hrs). It cranked fine, does not seem to be a battery or starter issue, just as if it did not get fuel??? Then next morning (or day after that) started right up in the morning (garage). Parked in covered parking that day. Ca. 6-8 hours later she would not start until 4th or 5th attempt, kept cranking and finally reluctantly started with a little accelerator pressure and needed to keep the accelerator down to keep it from "starving" idle was then a little over 1000rpm, after 2-3 minutes it dropped a little lower than that and everything seemed fine, I drove for 15 minutes, turned off, started right up, had her sit for 15-20 minutes, started right up.
I am on over 3/4 tank, wonder if I filled up with bad quality gas? Not sure how old fuel filter is, (bought the car last year September), of course my problem might be on the ignition side as well.
What do you guys think? I haven't tried today yet, but it sure scared me when it took more than two attempts to start. Usually there is no hesitation at all.
Any ideas? Suggestions? (fuel additive?)

Thanks!

Dietmar

Sorry, it's under the driver seat. You should pick up a spare to keep in the glove compartment, if you put the new one in and it doesn't solve your prob, then you now have your backup.

Ok so I will get a spare DME relay, but from what I read so far they either work or don't, how about the CHT sensor? would that explain the (temperature related?) starting problems I have?

Sounds to me like a fuel related problem.....if the condition of the fuel filter is unknown, I'd pull it out and see how it flows....it's a cheap replacement anyway. If that didn't fix it, I'd start looking at the fuel pressure regulator (make sure the vacuum line is hooked up). It could still be a CHT issue....that component can be ohm checked before replacing. Doesn't strike me as a DME issue.
