Paul Weir

Anyone have any experience (good and/or bad)with the Paul Weir "Expert Porsche Service" in Seattle? I have been wondering about using either them or Motormeister to rebuild my engine ?

My dealings with Paul Weir have been very good. It has consisted of parts ordering(new & used) and they have been most helpful.
If their motor work is as good you won't have any problems.

I purchased a 2.7 from Motor Meister for a 914 conversion. From initial testing at the local track (rev-limited to 5k), the engine is absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough about the care with which Lee Marks demonstrated in building the engine. If you go with those guys, you'll be suitably impressed!

Read the post "MotorMeister" in this column. Seems like "luck" is involved when dealing with them. I've phoned Paul Weir and he is very professional and knows Porsches. He sent me a brochure on their motor rebuilding procedures, which shows pictures of their "state of the art" motor rebuilding facility.I am going to have my 3.0 rebuilt this summer and they are getting my business,

As I stated in the post on "front end shimmy" I used Weir in 1990 for work on a 75 S I had . His website is very imformative and I noticed a comment he made that the average Joe will have little or no chance of successfully rebuilding a 911 engine himself, thats typical of Paul.
If anyone talks to him ask him to show you the pictures or tell you of the story of his beautiful stock white 930 Turbo he rolled and totaled at the race track a few years ago.

In regards to the j ryreson posting of May 10, 1999. He makes reference to me rolling a white 930 at the track a few years ago. The facts are as follows. In 1984, I built a 1977 911 turbo look car. It was owned jointly by myself and my ex business partner Michael Cammack. Michael is the one who rolled the car and it was on I 5 north at Northgate, not at the track. I just wanted to set the record straight.
