Ain't that a peach!!! Enjoy your new toy.

p.s. should the rear be lowered an inch or so? Anyone?

Looks sweet Brian, Silver/ Black is a good color combo for a 911. She just sits a little high for me, probably was never lowered.
Have fun this weekend.

To lower it, buy a set of Sway Away adj. spring plates and then call Marcesq. Just kidding.

It's not a breeze. Get a copy of Wayne's book and check out the bit on lowering. There should be a tech article somewhere here on that.

Brian if you measure from the center of the fender lip to the ground you want about 25" in the rear and the front shoud be about 25.5. My car is a little lower in the front about 251/4 with not much gas ( Running on Empty).

Hey Brian,

Welcome!! Get ready to become addicted. When I bought my car, I got the same remarks about lowering both ends. I didn't even realize how my car was too high as I was too excited about having the darn thing to begin with. Anyhow, lowering it is not the easiest thing to do, and I had my shop do it when I changed wheels early on. Do a search of the threads here and the subject should pop up. I believe there are actually 2 different ways to do it, but I'm not the biggest DIY (do it yourself) guy, so I paid by the hour (just a few hours by the way), but I do stride to do things on my own, little by little.

Don't worry about the height for now, just drive it!! Lower it when you have the time or $$$. Also, you should take the other P-heads up on their offer to hang, and I'm very confident that someone in your area can assist you in doing it yourself!! Part of the fun of these cars is learing how they work, and working on them yourself. Congrats, you've got one helluva car there. Now, maybe you should join a club and get that thing on the track this summer?

regards, and remember to ask any question you want over here.

Hey Todd,
Not to change subjects but was the picture of you car from the rear in your profile taken at Graystone the Doheny Mansion, or is that your house?

Nope, she doesn't drive it. She would absolutely hate it.

Brian,
The reason the US cars were set higher was the 5 MPH bumper laws from about 1975 thru the early 80's. The european car's sat like they should, at about the spec's I mentioned earlier.

Very Nice Brian, You're in for a lot of fun and don't forget to have your car's alignment re-aligned after lowering it.

Beautful car - love the color. Becareful when lowering, though. Those look like 17" turbo twists - watch out for rubbing.
