getting a good PPI

Plecostomos,

Ask on this board for recommendations for a good Porsche wrench and I am sure you will get a response. You are in the DC area and there is a big Porsche fan base here.

Thanks a bunch ikarcuaso and Doug. I really appreciate it,

Kurt

Then he better get used to living with his car! Did you ask him to drive the car to the wrench for/with you?
Everyone repeat the mantra: "No PPI = No sale"

I just pulled my 78 SC apart at about 170k. Studs were all good...steel top row, dilivar bottom row. None broken nor pulled. Just lucky, I guess. Even had Nikasil cylinders.

Lmao. Thanks Joe and Pat.

Would those be 930 Dilivar studs??? If so, you may have a ticking set of 24 studs on your hand, rather than just 12!

I actually meant these , listed as "Porsche 911-930 Turbo SS head studs".

Durring my ppi the mechanic only checked the top head studs as the lower ones are harder to get to. I only realized how risky this was later, but 20,000 miles on and everthing is still fine.

If you find that you ever have to replace them, do yourself a favor and go with Henry's Supertec Studs.

Alex
