early 911 radio antenna
The original radio antenna on my 1966 911 is an eyesore. It is located in the fender just in front of the driver's door. How do I remove/replace the antenna without removing the door or fender, and without scratching the paint? I don't think it will fit in the crack between the door and fender with the door all the way open. Please give me some advice on this. Thanks for your help!

You remove the antenna through the left front kick panel.

I've looked, and there doesn't appear to be kick panel access or any other inside-the-car access to the radio antenna. Hasn't anyone out there removed/replaced their left-side antenna in an early 911??

As the wish-I-were-the-expert on radio antennas, after the mid-70's, the antennas were powerized and the antenna and motor were located on the right side. I'm looking for removal/replacement advice on a 1966 911. Thanks anyway.

You will have to remove the door pins and stop to gain access the ant.
Sorry it's the only way to reach the thing. Good Luck, Lee |
