Window Regulator out
Manual windows were going up until about two inches from the top, and then the window crank would just spin around.
Pulled the window regulator out (still hard to believe that it came out, not looking forward to putting the new one back in). Found a few of the teeth at the top that were rounded off. Now, the hunt for a used drivers side window regulator for a 79 Targa has begun. ![]()

I recently replaced my pivot pins. Some tips:
-tape the window in the 1/3 up position -One of the sliders that goes intot he slot on the window on the regulator goes in first (I think it is the front one). -once you get the first slider in, move the regulator around to crank the mechanism,. There is a "Sweet spot" in the middle of the regulator movement where the second slider will align with the slot on the window. it may take a few tries to find this spot.

I sold my 68 911 over a year ago. I did many many projects on it but THIS one was probably my least favorite. Be very patient. (with both the search for a good regulator as there are lots of junky ones for sale...and the reinstallation).
