Aux Air Regulator during hot weather

Anyone,

We are having unusual hot weather in Belgium (30-35 degrees or 90-100 Fahrenheit). When I start my SC from cold the idle immediately goes to 950, normally it stats out at 1200 and then drops.

Is this due to the hot weather outside? I am assuming the outside temp is enough to close the AAR without having to wait to warm it up. Is my thinking correct?

Thanks for your opinions.

Michel

Michel,

the AAR delivers less air at higher ambient temperatures. As soon as the engine is running, an electrical
heating element closes the AAR in 2-3 minutes. But your cold idle also depends on your WUR setting.
You find details about the AAR here: AAR Revisited

Best regards,

Tell me about it ..!
I live in the "Caribbean" Tropics, PR, and the AAR is useless since this unit was desing to work in colder weather.
