SC Starter motor problems

My 78Sc has developed a starter motor problem, The starter will not crank I can only hear a faint click which I assume Is my solenoid. It has done this a few days ago then 2 separate times today after bump starting the car the starter works again .Is my starter shot ?Any tips on removing the starter?Could it be the connections in the starter if I remove it and take it apart is their a easy fix?Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

In case anyone else developes a similar problem it appears the reason my starter was acting up is due to the connections on the solenoid being dirty and my battery posts After talking to a local rebuilder of starters he mentioned Porsche starters rarely fail it is much more common for the alternators.Removal appears simple with 2 hex bolts utilizing a extension for the back bolt.

But when they do fail, it is the solenoid that has gotten hot once too often. The SR68X is the Bosch replacement.

One piece of advice for anyone doing starter work is to remember to disconnect your neg battery and make sure it wont brush up agaist the terminal accidently.I was in a big hurry to examine and remove the connections on my solenoid and after carefully jacking and supporting the car I began to remove my connections a big spark occured and I then thought how stupid I was as my car was in gear and could have engaged the starter and rolled forward off the jack stands on to myself under the car!
