Is it possible to remove the hard plastic “hot air socket”, P/N 930 211 323 01 which runs from the engine compartment blower to the air duct that covers the top of the engine, without disassembling the engine? I assume this is the duct that the blower uses, when in reverse mode, to cool the engine. I’d like to get it out of the way in order to pull the fuel injection manifolds.

I think you can. However, I'd suggest posting a pick so that people can better orient themselves to your question.

Yep, I used to pull it off every time I changed spark plugs on the driver's side. As I recall it is one or two screws on the blower end and a hose clamp on the shroud end.

Kurt,
I'm talking about the flat piece with the rectangular white Shell Oil sticker and the rectangular yellow A/C info sticker on it, not the round tube that runs from the heat exchangers to the blower. I'll try to upload the photo. Dennis ![]()

yes, that can be removed without issue. you can run your car without it. some do just that to remove some cluter from the engine bay.
good luck
