I have a '76 911 which I had lowered. I am guessing the turbo's of that year also had torsion bars in the rear. The bars have splines on the end which fit into the spring plates on the outer end. A combination of indexing the spring plate on the bar and the bar in the torsion tube can gain you minute adjustments in ride height. There is supposed to be a mathamatical formula in the workshop manual to achieve the correct height without having to do this trial and error. I left it to the pros. It cost me around $300(PA area) to have the car lowered (front & rear) and corner balanced. Handles better and looks cool too. Hope this helps.
