Time for my 3rd Porsche

I have been sitting at home waiting for my wife to give birth to our second daughter, has given me lots of time to think about what is important in life.

I am going to look for a new Porsche, I am wide open to the following. The most important thing to me is what feels like a good deal, and the car is clean. I wouldn't use the car that much, I spend more time cleaning then driving.

I am open to the following.

SC or Carrera, low miles and super clean. I also wouldn't want to spend more than 20K. The one at Truspeed isn't for me, and wouldn't want to spend 32K on a SC.

964 open as long as there is good service history on the car

1995 993 - Good Service history and records and the car is clean. Budget could go to 35K for the right car.

Let me know if there is something out there.
Thanks in advance for your help in putting a new car in my garage.

Michael

Just went to TruSpeed and ******** West yesterday. TruSpeed has a better collection of air-cooled cars but prices at both are about 20% too high.

There's an SC at ******** West but definitely talk them down. They said that they don't really negotiate, but if you are serious, I think they will. Just do your homework as you have for your other P-cars.

California Cars has a collection; they're in Calabasas.

Another place I keep an eye on is:
www.automotive-excellence.com

Otherwise, it's Auto Trader or Cars.com.

Don't forget this site...

Michael,

Got your PM earlier. Are you looking for a Tiptronic or manual this time? I'll start checking the PCA links for you.

Here's one:

I am moving to europe and selling my 1995 993, it has 102,000. miles, the car has been propery maintained, has a documented 4 owner history, clean carfax and runs, steers, and stops like cars i i have driven with 60,000. miles. In April of 2006 it has had four new tires, new brakes on all four corners, new plugs, oil, oil filters, air filter, fuel filter, and the caps and rotors and wires were inspected. NO squeaks, rattles, or leaks, and is always garaged and covered, will post pics soon, asking $27,400. the car is in the North Bay and can be made available for showings and/or pre-purchase inspections

Thanks Chris.

Was hoping to find a 993 with about 50K in miles.

FYI-

In Southern California, a low-mileage 95 993 may be a bit more than you're bugdeting for.

Someone has to know a good SC or Carrera for sale. I have been offered one car, but it is all the way on the East Coast.

Michael, first of all congrats on the birth of your second daughter! (Even if that hasn't transpired yet, it's possible to know thru ultrasound. But me thinks you have her in hand ).

I know you though we've never met personally and you are the most meticulous of all. You will have to wait for the right one. And, it won't come cheap as clean as you like them. The only cars I see that meet your criteria are sold PP through PCA websites. I'd bookmark every one and check them often. You might even write to the clubs' webmasters for an inside tip, or post your own ad.

Definately network the Dana Point Concours this weekend. That's a big one for the guys and gals that like clean cars.

How about the Pomona Swap Meet?

They usuallly have cars for sale, but you'd really need to do your homework and have PPI.

Michael-
I know of a super-clean 82 SC Targa in Irvine that may be for sale. The car is Guards Red with a black interior. The paint is perfect, recarpeted, engine doesn't leak a drop, heavier T-bars, new roof seals, perfect roof, rebuilt 915, upgraded AC, 7s and 9s redone by Al Reed, etc. PM me if you're interested.

JP.

Thanks for the offer, but I am staying away from a targa this time.

Michael

Hello Michael, not to sound like a parrot, but first things first. Congratulations on your second child!

Good luck with your new (to you) Porsche purchase. It sounds like you're going to have a beautiful car in that garage of yours. I can't wait to see it on one of our runs.

Keep us posted.

Thanks guys, my daughter was born on the 26th of June, she is a perfect little angel.

I am talking with the owner of this car. I don't know if I can talk my self into the 993 price range, as I have become one cheap bastard.

The owner of this car is as anal as me.
