CDI Ignition Box and Mystery Wire
Hi,
First time poster, long-time lurker. I have a 1971 T and I'm wondering what the grey/tan-ish wire with the white stripe attaches to (see picture) coming out of the wiring harness on the driver's side. It appears that it is ground and connects to the inside male spade terminal on the bottom of the CD ignition box. I've studied a wiring diagram but I'm at a loss to identify it. Thanks, in advance, for your help. John P 1971 T CT ![]() Last edited by John P (w/a T); 07-12-2006 at 09:22 AM.. |

That is an unused wire for the cold-start solenoid on an MFI car (E, S). It is not used in the T.
It is independent of the braided strap which attaches between chassis ground (between the electrical console plate and the body, make sure it's bright metal) and the faston terminal or "D" terminal on the side of the CDI box. How about some obligatory pics of the car?
