M Calipers And master Cylinder Upgrade

My car had M calipers all round, ive recently upgraded the fronts to 3.2 A calipers. Today I was stripping down my 4 M calpiers to rebuild the best two to go back on the rear when I noticed that the two calipers off the front have bigger pistons and also have the hole for the pipe in a different location. Is there any benefit to using the bigger piston calipers on the rear?

Also what would be the best non boosted master cylinder to use with the 3.2 calipers?

Thanks Steve

Will you your old front Ms even fit on the rear?

I have a 3.2 set up on my 3.2 powered 71 car and I used the standard 19mm M/C, they work great, there are upgrades availble. Do a search here on Pelican.

the piston size is one way of setting the brake bias (pad size and rotor diameter also affect bias) You want about 1.6 times the brake force going to the front brakes. if you put the front calipers on the rear you will need to put bigger or more piston calipers in the front. if you do that you will likely need a larger master cylinder.
