Slight Rust Problem

What do you think? A little Bondo, and everything will be just fine?

Surely that's not saveable.

niner11 07-09-2006 08:02 PM

I bet Milt could save it!:)

rlh930 07-09-2006 08:13 PM

Bondo? Duct tape should be sufficient.

944pilot 07-09-2006 08:18 PM

Oh, come on. That will buff right out.

jtratza 07-09-2006 08:44 PM

The Titanic wasn't that rusted.

competentone 07-09-2006 08:48 PM

My wife says it's a "Flintstones car." The only way it will move now is if you stick your feet through the holes in the floorboard and push it!

Dan in Pasadena 07-09-2006 09:09 PM

DarylD could fix it....and I'm not kidding - though he'll probably chime in and say he wouldn't suggest it be done.

I know it is perverse, but there is a part of me that would get a major kick out of truly bringing back a car that was this far gone....Of course I'd want extensive Before, During and After photos.

I did a '57 Chevy truck with Flintstone floor holes but nowhere near this bad.

Hugh R 07-09-2006 09:20 PM

I've heard of lightening a car, but come on!

azasadny 07-10-2006 09:42 AM

Ahhhh!!!! My eyes, my eyes!!! Why wasn't there a warning? That is horrible carnage to view just after lunch!

Believe it or not, the ***** I bought my first 911 from had pop riveted sheet metal over this area. This is akin to what I found when I opened it up. The car left on a flatbed :(

trader220 07-10-2006 09:56 AM

That rust is so minor I am surprised you even found it, I'd keep driving I dont think the real rust has begun to show up yet.

nigel911 07-10-2006 10:22 AM

Buy a new set of mats and advertise the car for sale.

trader220 07-10-2006 10:23 AM

See if Victory Motors will buy it from you
