MFI Protractor Tool Question
 

I have the complete set of MFI protractor tools for 2.0 / 2.2 engines (tool P 228b) and the 2.4 engine (tool P 228c). The protractors for the 2.0 & 2.2 set up fine. The protractors for the 2.4 seem to be about 4.5 degrees off from each other.
One of the P 228c protractors has a silver decal and the other has a black decal. Both are marked P 228C. Silver one has the tool number P 228C on the inside, and the black one has the P 228C on the outside. Whats the deal....
Any help would be most welcome.

Probably made by different subcontractors ... at different times! The silver one looks older to me, and perhaps a bit more durable ... in terms of markings!
