77' Electronic speedo( no MPH)
Is it possible to ck for the magnetic ring in the tranny for the electronic speedo,without pulling the tranny..my 77 had no speedo and that is the only other thing to ck,PO said the speedo worked before I bought the car,which had no engine,and I never looked at the tranny ????? FM
I have installed 2 new sensors,had all wiring ck' seems ok,My mech.has a nifty device that hooks up to the tunel wires and he spins it....and it register's MPH...but drive it down the road and its a no worka ????????? Thanks FM |

FM,
You can use any multimeter to check the sensor ... turn the axle or wheel exactly one revolution ... you should see eight contact closures of less than 1.0 Ohm and eight openings [over-range or infinite resistance] ... these same results should be obtained at the two wires at the back of the speedometer!
