'88 911 Rear Spoiler Installation
Hello.
Just picked up a '88 911 Coupe w/rear spoiler and wanted to know if the spoiler is easily removeable? Is it mounted right over the grill? Can I easily take it off and run the car w/out it and re-install it when I want the look with the tail? |

No. The tail uses the std factory grill fixings at the top but there are holes drilled on the bottom. These would have to be repaired to run tail off. Most guys just buy a spare lid if they want to swap out occasionally.

If you removed the tail you will find the large opening and below that the approx 4-6 holes used to mount the tail. You could just get a black plastic grill to cover the opening and run the car that way. The only other difference from stock would be the 4-6 drilled holes below the opening and possibly the carrera script placement.

Thank you guys so much! I know someone selling a hood so I think I might pick it up.
Hard to swap out hood with a/c condenser mounted underneath? |
