Up in smoke..

Everytime I start my 73 911T it lets out a big puff of white smoke, and then runs fine (no smoke ). Could this be becuase its running rich?

Could be from over filling the oil tank....or worn valve guides...or you can ignore it...

To quote Bruce Anderson, some Porsches smoke when started, some don't and it's about impossible to tell why? If the compression is good, the valves don't wobble and it runs fine with normal oil consumption, I wouldn't worry.
