15 inch vs 16 inch wheels

While I know that there are probably more sizes available in 16 inch tires, is there any other reasons for upgrading to a 16 inch fuchs. Any handling, etc. benefits.

No. There are actually less tire size options for 16in vs 15in rims the wider you go. The shorter the wheel/tire combo the quicker the steering and the quicker the gearing. Taller wheels usually look better. You have to ballance function with the look you want. For all out handling go low profile/tall wheel. If budget conscious stick to 15s. I run 255/40/15 and 345/35/15 on my widebody SC - just because I like the look. The 15s keep the car lower than 17s and the tire height gives a respectable ride (street car). 17s look more modern but put the car up higher, lowering the car could compromise shock travel and the ride. Handling is superb due to the tire width.

17 and 18 inch wheels look great. Personally, early cars look best with Cup 1 wheels. To keep the rolling circumferance the same, the greater the wheel size, the lower profile until with 18,s it looks as if the tires are little more than black rubber bands......and expensive tyre prices to match. I guess you have to decide whether or not to sit in the originality camp or move to having your car "breathed on". Regardless, other than the VW Beetle, you have the most recognizable car on the planet and in my opinion, the most beatiful shape in the history of the motor car (and yes, I include Ferraris...........)
