Polishing / Detailing
Does hand glaze / polishing compound work on clearcoat? I have the 3M foam pad polishing compound and it is incredible on my single stage Guard's Red. However, I want to use it on my Black Magic Passat which it a black pearl paint with a clearcoat on top.
What's best?

3M Imperial Hand Glaze states that it is clearcoat safe. I haven't used it yet but just received it from carcareonline.com which recommended it. I did use Porsche Paint Polish on a Passat I was detailing prior to selling several months ago, followed by 1 Grand Blitz Wax; results looked great.

I like the 3m glaze, it's shiny and deep.
Goes on best with terry towel and buff off with another clean towel.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze is great on black and works fine on clearcoated surfaces. The only problem is that it needs to be applied everytime you wash the vehicle. Have you tried liquid glass? also 3M has the pink fill and glaze which works well on cleared vehicles with fine wash marks (scratches) but again, application with every wash is needed and as it is pink, can make detail cleanup somewhat tedious...
