1975 Daytona 24 Hour Race -- What happened to the RSR?
Does anyone know the history or location of the 1975 911 RSR that Peter Gregg won the 24 hour race held in Daytona? Pictures would be great.

Yes, the number 59. This 911 was prior to the amazing 935 cars.
Any chance you can send me a scan of the car.

I lived in Jacksonville back then and spent a lot of time at Brumos. As I recall, he had two RSR's that he used during the '75 season. In early '76 I remember seeing one of them for sale in the showroom in race-ready condition, even with Brumos livery for - get this - $25,000!
This was when they were switching to 934's. Even then, this seemed like a steal of a deal, as that's about what a new 930 cost. But $25K was a lot of money in 1975! At least it was for me. My brand new Peru Red '74 911 with full red leather was $11K. Many of Peter's cars were sold to fellow IMSA racer Hector Rebaque who lived in Mexico. I think that's where the '73 Daytona winner ended up. I'd like to know where it is now, as it is arguably the most signigicant RSR of all. One of the RS/RSR books indicated that it had been resold and wrecked.

Diego Fables bought the Daytona car and I think it was in the Dominican or Caribbean somewhere. A fellow named Tom Linton in Sante Fe has the best data base in the world, or Kevin Jennette in Fl.

There is a Brumos RSR clone running in HSR that supposed replicates a Peter Gregg car that no longer exists. According to the owner, Bob Snodgrass helped him with info. Could that be the car?

I have one of the rear wings from that car or one of its spares. I bought it back in about 1987 with a bunch of other RSR parts and with some newer paint covering up the Brumos colors didn't know what I had until a few years ago. Love that Brumos/Peter Gregg car too and was wondering what happened to it also. Good post. Thanks.

Interesting to see a 3 liter air cooled six whoop up on a 4.5 liter V12

Jim, thats a great shot of the Daytona 24 damage from the near flip that happened right in front of me. I was up in Keech grandstands with my Dad and #59 came into turn one wide and was t-boned by a camaro. Both slid into the small runoff area and the Porsche got up on two wheels coming sooo close to rolling over. It was early on in the race, so after pit repairs and attrition, the Brumos car was back in the lead to stay by early next morning.
