Please help!!!

I've got a customer who is in Baumholder, Germany - in the Kaiserslautern area. More acurately, his car is. Anyways, after selling him a sweet brushed M&K/SSI combo platter, his local shop doesn't seem to get the whole "back-dating" concept. I need a shop to help this guy, or a Pelican who might want to make a few extra bucks.

BTW - He's a helluva nice guy, and a soldier in the US Army. So please help!!!

Thanks in advance guys!

Do you need someone to email or talk to them? Have not lived there in a while but my German is good enough to do that...

Is it a German shop or the local auto craft shop at the military base?

Either would probably be good. I'll see if I can get some contact info for the shop. Thanks!

Post the numbers I am fluent and in the Heidelberg area (also Army). My car is a hundred pieces right so I cannot help directly but I can talk with the shop. The shop is probably afraid because of the German inspections.

I am here in Kaiserslautern and 20 minutes from him. Give him my phone number and I will do what I can. PM me for the phone number. Is this a bolt on setup with the SSI's or what is the issue? I have a shop here in the KMC that installed my M&K with no issues so I am sure they can do it.

Way to go Smitty !

I live in Wurzburg and have two friends that own and run Porsche repair shops. They will do the work as requested.

That's one thing I do not miss about living over there.

When one of the mechs at the Stuttgart Flughafen dealer saw the 930 brakes on my narrow body 3.2, he shook his head at the impropriety.

I told him he was welcomed to take it around the block to see how well it stops...

George,

Thats one thing that is nice about having a car registered with US Military plates over there. NO TUV inspection to wade through!

If this guy is using US plates then he can swap exhaust systems, otherwise doubt that the dealership will do it...

Joe we even have the true German plates and no TUV...for now. The fart cans and alteeza crowd are likely to blow it for us though.

HD,

So you have a normal German plate but let the military guys do the inspections? Hope it lasts! With what is going on in todays world thats a lot better than what we had.

I always hated having the military plate on my cars because it was like a signal "US MILITARY MEMBER" here, kidnap or shoot.
