Amazon Green C2 on Deck
I agreed to buy the Amazon Green 92 C2. I pick it up on Wednesday. Those of you who have followed my car history and progress know the circumstances that brought me to the C2. I want the classic style with the modern mechanicals.
I was somewhat indifferent to seeing this particular car. I had never seen Amazon Green. My color preference was silver or red, maybe black. I have heard mixed reviews, but it comes down to personal preference. I normally don't take to "special" colors but I decided to take a look anyway as it was nearby-a real novelty for me as I usually have to fly to buy the car. When I arrived the car was in the garage and it was immaculate, as described. It looked dark blue which was pleasing enough. John, the owner backed it out into daylight and my wife and I both said "Wow!" which indicates how I now feel about the color. It's hard to describe. It is definitely blue, but with undertones of green for sure, depending on the lighting. However, blue is always there. It's a beautiful color on a clean car. I would imagine it looks terrible when dirty, much like any dark color. The other compelling reason for buying was how clean the car is. It basically looks brand new. Again the words "Wow" kept falling out of my mouth which was okay because we had agreed upon a price before I arrived. The tan interior is perfect and smelled great. The tan carpet even looks like the day it was originally sold. Of course it ran and drove like new also. No leaks, noises, everything works including A/C! The best part, and the reason for the "newness" and higher price- 22,000 miles! Verified by carfax and records. I almost didn't buy it because it's too nice. I actually drove away and told him I would think about it for a few hours and get back to him. When I told my wife why I didn't buy it, she ridiculed me until I turned around and bought it. I'll post pics after I pick it up on Wednesday. |

Yep-that's it. The pics don't even come close to doing the car justice.
Should I be concerned that it appears to have been titled 6 times? I was told it was three owners. It appears that it was first bought in Texas late year which I like. After 3 years it came up here to Wisconsin-Madison. There it changed hands on paper anyway. The reason I say that is the second owner was a general manager of a large import dealership. My guess is he played some paper games with the car because if it really changed owners, would it really have stayed in Madison that whole time? Remember this is Wisconsin. Not a lot of Porsches here. For one to stay in the same area would be rare. Last edited by SLO-BOB; 07-15-2006 at 01:17 PM.. |

I hope you are getting a PPI first, as a low miles car could easly have more issues thank a higher miles car.

Wow!! (I had to say that
)Seriously, though...that car is simply beautiful. And 22,000 miles on a 964! Amazing. I would've flown out there and slapped you up side the head myself if you hadn't bought it. You've got a good wife there, Bob (my wife did the same thing when I wanted to back out of the 996 I bought last week; thank God for our smart wives, eh?)
