Great Dave! Good work I look forward to seeing you at the Ventura show.

I see from the pic that you left the ICV cable off (to answer your quiz).

Porsche Crest

Kurt,

Don't worry about asbestos exposure with any new clutch disk ... is has been over two decades since the EPA banned its' use in brake pads and clutches! Now they use chopped Kevlar threads ... who knows how dangerous that may be! We probably won't find out for decades!

Long time since Kevlar was introduced in a 1973 TV ad for Goodyear Kevlar-belted racing radials for the original IROC series, along with the newest 'Ex-ten' touring tires with their new Aramid belts of Kevlar! Ex-ten evolved into Flex-ten in later generation Goodyear tires ...

Hi!

Decided to put an ending on this thread. My Porsche is finally done. The flywheel, pressure plate and starter ring were balanced together and reinstalled. I made sure to measure distances once the fw was bolted up, rechecked that all bolts were torqued, ditto the pp. Installing the engine and tranny the second time was uneventful. Once the engine fired up, I knew all was fixed. I am guessing that I screwed up somewhere and something was off center a bit. I brought my car to my mechanic this evening and we threw it on one of his lifts and readjusted the clutch cable a little. The car feels a little different now due to the Wevo SS tranny/engine mounts and also feels like it has a little more 'go'. As far as I'm concerned, 99% of the oil leaks I had before are gone now! It pays off to replace seals/hosesgaskets/etc. 'while you are in there'.

Thanks joining me on my adventure! As soon as I recover finacially, I'd be happy to tear into the engine or tranny... Until then,

Dave
